First this! I'm guesting posting for Andrea on her series Birth diaries.. Come check it out. :)I love her & her blog.
Moving on...The study on learning who I am as a daughter of Christ is so incredible. It's really a study that doesn't end and would clearly take forever to get it all down. We have so much Victory, Authority & so much love from Jesus. It's a study I don't plan to end and I encourage you to do a study on it yourselves. I'd love to hear all about it!
In these last few weeks of understanding to a deeper level of who we are as daughters of God I've taken with me that The Father has lavished us in His Love and acceptance. And we are all children of God through faith. That He is The Perfect Father to us willingly and has adopted us to be His Own. We are not unworthy to be His children in fact, we have a right to be! Not because of our own works but all because of Jesus and all that He did to make us perfection and white as snow. He is our reflection.
Being a woman who has never had that kind of Father and daughter relationship before this speaks volumes to me. We are not meant to seek and expect our fathers to fill every need. That's what our Father in Heaven desires to do and He's the only one that can do it. It doesn't matter if your dad here in earth is the best one there is. He can't fill your every need because he has needs of his own. He can't fll your every need because he doesn't know how too. So give your needs to God and He'll fill them willingly with love and open arms.
Ladies, we are so much more in Jesus. It's captivating. This study isn't yet over for me and I will continue to study and share what I have learned in my upcoming E book EEK! I can't wait to share more on that.
Now I think it's time to move on to Understanding my role as a Biblical wife. I have been so excited to do this one because being a wife and knowing the importance of being a Biblical one not only for my sake but my family's as well,. I take my role as a wife so seriously and I want to do it joyfully & with the best of my ability. So will you join me for the next couple of weeks as I make the commitment with learning and understanding to a deeper level of what my role is as a Biblical wife? I'm so excited. :)

The engagement.
So yea, we're boyfriend and girlfriend now. We went from texting to phone calling and he was taking me out on a lot more dates which this girl wasn't complaining. :)
We spent most of our days together hanging out with friends, at his house or mine. We spend a lot of time walking on the trail in our woods behind my house where I would often go on Jesus walks to spend time with Him.
The Necklace from Puerto Rico
It was in Mid October when my family held a Harvest Party every year. We'd have a Bonfire, eat s'mos a.k.a S'mores and just spend time with family. Before Leon left he pulled me aside and said with the sweetest voice " I love you Heather, and I know now whom I'm going to marry. I'm sorry that I've dated other girls with the thought that they were you when they weren't and I'm going to spend the rest of my life making it up to you".
He then told me to hold out my hand and he gave me this.
She said yes!

My life was getting difficult and hectic. I have been watching my niece and my friends baby for four years and I decided I had to let them go because I needed to get an actual dependable job considering I was 19 and was getting married at least in the next five years so I needed to start saving. So I made that heart saddening decision to tell my sister and my friend that I needed to get an actual job.
It was November 19th when I called Panera Bread for the 20th time asking them if they had received my application and after they had my voice recognized they finally told me to come in at 4:00pm for an interview. I was so super excited/nervous! I called Leon telling him right away the big news and he came right over. When Leon came he helped me pick out the right outfit to wear and helped me style my hair.. (That's Leon) He was seriously needed.. Before I left doubt seriously got a hold of me telling me that there was no way they were going to hire me. When I gave into this doubt Leon fought back when I told him "I won't get it" and said "yea, you probably won't. In fact what's the point in going?" I looked back out of shock and said "Leon, you're supposed to be encouraging me!" Then he said "I am! I was showing you how horrible doubt has made you sound. You need to think on the positive. If you want this job you can't take no for an answer. You just got to go for it!" Yes, I'm in love!
So, I went, had my interview and with much excitement I got the job working at one of my favorite places ever! When I came home to give Leon a call telling him the good news I was surprised to see his car in my driveway.. I wondered why he came back to my house after just leaving before I left.
When I walked in Leon was all dressed up which was nothing. The man goes to Panera bread dressed like he's going to church all the time. So I didn't think nothing of it. After hanging around the house for a bit Leon asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the trail? Not having a clue what was going on I said "Sure, let me go get my jacket.
So we were walking on the trail. He was wearing his nice monkey suit and I was dressed in sweats and a baggy jacket enjoying the leaves fall had to offer us. There was a certain log in the woods that we used for a bench that we'd often sit on to talk. When we sat he pulled out his bible and I asked "Do you have a word for me Darling?" And he said "Well, lets find out." He gave me his Bible and told me to open it up to Jeremiah 29:11 (our verse) and once I did I saw a beautiful shiny gold ring with a giant diamond. The only thing I could think was "whaaat?" but before I had a chance to say anything, Leon got on his knees and said "Heather, I love you. Will you marry me?"

Yes! I said quickly.. I didn't even let him finish the sentence all the way.. This was such a step, a decision that would change our lives forever and yet, it was one of the easiest decisions I have ever made. Saying yes to him was just like breathing. It came naturally.

Come back next Friday for part 9.

It was given to him by a girl he had a romantic relationship with while he was in Puerto Rico for a missions trip.. It wasn't a sexual relationship obviously but he liked her, she liked him and she gave that to him to remember her by. He told me he used to wear it all the time but now he gives it to me as a remembrance that all the time he's given to the women who tried to take my place he will give back to me.

Perfection.
As a mom perfection is something I strive to be.. I desire to be the perfect mama. The mama who knows how to do all things, when to do them and how to do them.
Being honest here, It bugs me that I'm not the perfect mom. It frustrates me so much! I want to do everything right and be the mistake free mom. But you and I both know that will never happen. Not being negative it's just truth!
God revealed something to me today that has never crossed my mind before.. never.
He told me that if I expect myself to be perfect, all knowing and to never make any mistakes then I need to expect the same of my daughter.. Also if I expect myself to be perfect why do I need Jesus in the first place?"
Bam! I just love Jesus and His Hardcore truths. Mamas I see things in a new light today.. It's really a good thing we're not the perfect mamas and here are some reasons why:
If we were perfect why would we need Jesus to help and guide us every day?
If we were the perfect mamas our children would suffer because they would see the perfection in our lives and they would want to strive for the same and because they're not perfect the lack of perfection
would fall even harder on them. And because they don't see us fully giving Jesus our frustrations and imperfections they won't either. Instead they will try to be perfect on their own and that's just not possible.
Darlings, I think one of the biggest lies the enemy tries to hit us hard with is that "you need to be a perfect mom to be a good mom." But I'm finding out that's the furthest thing from the truth.
Our children need to see our physical imperfections and they need to see us giving them to Jesus so He can continue to renew us. We need to stop trying to do it on our own and just cry out to Christ and say "God I receive your love, guidance and wisdom today!"
And we need to stop beating ourselves up about mistakes we have made when it comes to parenting and tell ourselves what we would tell our own children. "It's okay, God's got you so forgive yourself and begin again. And that's exactly what our Heavenly Father is telling us. We're just so disappointed in ourselves to hear it.
So moms, I'm glad you're not perfect and I'm glad I'm not perfect. It makes it a lot easier for us to understand each other and encourage each other.
I'm glad we need Jesus every second of the day and I'm glad our children do too!
I'm glad that my dear Evie can see how much I need Jesus and I pray every day that through the imperfections I deal with daily Evelynne will not only see how much I need and receive the strength and perfection of Jesus but I hope she sees how much she needs Jesus too.
I don't know about you but for now on this mama is clinging hard to the fact that Jesus is what makes me a perfect mama. And imperfections won't change that.
Just like in Jesus our children are perfect children and mistakes they make won't change that either.
