Baby #2 Ten week update

Wow am I really doing this? Am I really writing my second baby's update? I'm so blessed over the moon that God has blessed us with another little one and even though I'm exhausted all the time I couldn't be more excited to experience another life growing inside of me.

 Baby States!
How along: 12 weeks.

 Baby's size:   2 in  |  5 cm

Weight: 0.5 oz
Doctor’s Appointment: We had our first doctors appointment and sonogram a week few weeks ago. Being there brought back so many memories of when I was pregnant with Evelynne. We're going to have to get a baby sitter for E for our future appointments because she is not a fan of the docs. She freaked out every time as soon as we went into the room. Our next one is in June sometime.

Movement: I've felt a lot of flutters recently. It's so nice to experience that feeling again. With Evelynne I didn't feel a thing until I hit my twenty weeks.

Maternity Clothes: My jeans are starting to get a little snug so I'll probably be taking out the maternity clothes soon.

Symptoms I have: I'm still dealing with some morning sickness and I'm puking on and off. Mainly I've just been so extremely tired.  I literally feel like I'm running a five mile marathon every day.

Best moment of the week: Every single day!! Leon's six day vacation started and I have been loving it. He's been cleaning, washing and helping with Evie along with going out to get my cravings.

Food cravings: Ugh food has been my enemy lately! Mainly because it's so confusing. Lately it has been the Strawberry poppyseed Chicken salad from Panera Bread along with their frozen Lemonade. But who knows what I'll want tomorrow.

Foods I've been staying away from: Ugh pretty much everything.
 Gender: Guess!!
Due date: December 13, 2014.

Am I wearing a "Tell me how to take care of my baby" sign on my forehead??

Hey wonderful mamas! I hope you are having a fabulous week. I have been so exhausted lately with baby #2 that I even almost forgot about today's link up *gasp!  Thankfully Sarah has my back every week to take care of the big stuff...Other wise we'd be in trouble haha!

Speaking of baby #2 I just want to thank all of you for the sweet comments and precious emails about our sweet precious  new baby! Ya'll are gems.  And sooooo sorry I have been the worst blog friend ever!! I'll make it up to you with some cute sonogram pics in the near future!!

So we're talking about dealing with people sharing their opinions and how to lovingly handle it.

I often felt like  because I became a mama at the young age of twenty that people felt like they had a responsibility to teach  tell me how to raise my child. I often felt like  I was constantly wearing a sign on my four head saying "Tell me how to do things your way!"

It even got to the point where I was nervous to even be myself  as a mom in front of people because I was afraid that I would get a 20 minute session of "what not to do" because I didn't do what the other mom thought was best for my child. I used to get so extremely angry inside but mostly insecure.

People used to tell me I was holding Evie way to much, or that nursing is causing her to be way to attached to me.  I also got the "Well, when my baby was that age" sermon.  I am a firm believer that you do not give a mama your opinion unless it's asked.. Unless it's a really serious thing of course!! Otherwise if you think a mama is holding her baby too much. What's that to you? I think she has rights to hold her baby as long as she wants. :)

Learning to handle opinions in a loving manner was something Jesus really had to work with me on. I had to put my feeling and sensitivity aside and the best way for me to handle opinions lovingly is to assume that they are doing it out of love.. Maybe they really do love you and they just want to help you out or maybe they just think you're clueless and  you need their Mama smarts.. Either way seeing things from that perspective makes it easier to not come up with snappy comebacks or secretly picturing yourself punching that person in the face.

Now, when people give me their opinions I'll receive it the best I can. However if I think their advice wouldn't work on my child I say "Yea, I don't think that will work for us. Thanks though!" Some women may still get offended by that but hey, I'm not gonna do something pointless for my kid just to make someone else feel good.
How do you deal with opinions?

Evelynne's 18 month update.

So my little big sister is now 18 months and I really feel like I'm wowed every month.  She is growing so fast and I never want to take it for granted.

At 18 Months Evelynne is:
really trying to form her words more now. It's so cute.  I really think the signing is helping her understand communication. She is now signing "More" "Please" and "all done"  She isn't really saying any new words but she is definitely showing signs that she will be talking soon.

Going to be a big sister!! We can't even express how excited we are. Evelynne got to go with mama and daddy to our first doctors appointment for her new little sibling and she loved playing with all the new toys.  Being there brought back so many memories of when I was pregnant with Evelynne. She is super protective over her mama. She didn't like the Midwife going near me so Leon took her out to play.

Becoming more and more like a little girl and less and less like a baby.  She is playing more and napping less.  She's actually sitting and laughing through movies now which is so adorable. I am guilty of letting Evelynne watch way more TV during this trimester than I do.. Her favorite thing right now to watch is Tangled and Barney. She is also dancing to music like "The wheels on the bus" And the "Ensy Weensy spider' She's so smart!

Nicknames: Evie, Piglet, Little love, Princess, munchkin, Espresso bean and Sweet Pea

Evelynne is loving// Playing Peek-a-boo// Chick-fil-a, When daddy comes home and chases her around the house// Being read too// Dancing to music//Her blankie// Her bear.

Evelynne doesn't like// Being told "no"// Timeouts// A majority of veggies which is why she gets veggie juice// nap time.

Eating:
At the moment she has been quite picky which is really hard for me right now because I'm just not up for trying to figure out what she will and won't eat.  I've been giving her lots of fruit and veggie pouches and smoothies along with yogurt and whatever we have been eating.

Daddy:
All I can say is Leon is the best daddy and hubby to us ever! He's been on vacation on and off this month so he's been really helping out with the house and with Evelynne and fulfilling all of my needs as a prego mama.

Mama:

Exhausted!! And so grateful for so many mommy friends who are happy to take Evie for a while so mama can get some much needed rest. I can't wait to feel 100% better.

                                                                                   What I'm looking forward to:
I'm so excited to do Big sister stuff with Evelynne.

Some things that happened this month//

I took Evie for the first time to Storyville Library and she loved it and so did I. There were so many things to do there. There was a mini library, a grocery store, train station and a forest. There was also a little place for babies six months and under for our new baby. I will def be back here.

My Birthday this year was definitely a Birthday  I want to remember always (Minus the morning sickness part) Mainly because I feel like it was a Birthday I could celebrate with my little girl that she could enjoy too! We went to the Amish Store with my baby girl and mama.  I celebrated my 23rd with some Amish store soup. When I got home I was surprised to see Chocolate covered fruit in my fridge. Given to me by my one and only Leon. Along with a precious note that had our verse on it Jeremiah 29:11.

Mothers day was wonderful too! And not just because Leon surprised me with a Keurig (AAAH) But also a pizza and cold stone Ice cream.  Getting to experience Mothers day with my two loves and finding out about our new baby made my Birthday and Mothers day made!

Dearest Evelynne.
Every month I am blown away by how much you've grown. Not just physically but in every way. You  have become Mama's big helper. You even want to throw away your diaper which has helped me so much.  You are such a happy little girl and also a stubborn one. You know what you want and you're passionate about it and  I love that about you and I know God has big plans to use that.
Leon and I are blessed beyond comparison to have you as our sweet daughter and your new baby sibling will be blessed as well. I love you sweet girl!!

Hey mamas!
Welcome back for another great week of Mommy Moments Link Ups! Thank you for linking up and for spreading the word last week! We had some awesome links last week as usual.

Motherhood has its seriousness and frustration as well as its laughs. That's why we are here. Life is much easier when traveled with companions! So mamas, let's join together in the spirit of motherhood and share our moments together. We want to hear the happy, sad, tough, terrible, hilarious moments that make being a mother the best job in the world!

The top viewed link this week belongs to Casey and Alexis from This Crazy Cass Life and her post Panick Attack 1: Being A Mom Is Hard! I'm not surprised that this was the top viewed post, after all! We all know that seasons of motherhood are especially hard and it's always nice to read about someone else's fears and struggles along the way. Thanks for sharing Alexis!
