Understanding my role as a Biblical Wife. (Biblical woman series)
This is such an important study for me because being a Biblical wife to Leon is my passion. He's such an amazing husband and my best friend so I want to be all that I can be for him.
Honesty time! I did a no no folks. You see, I've put my Marriage on the back burner for a bit when I became a mama.. It's something that's so easy to do when you're a first time mom in fact I didn't even realize I did it until I read another blog post about it and realized "Oooops! Am I doing that??"
I guess because I got so overwhelmed with a little person and studying her, getting to know her likes and dislikes and making sure that her every need is met that I forgot to make sure Leon's needs were met too.
I've studied blogs and books on being the best mom I can be and leaving my studies on being the best wife I could be in the dust. I stopped trying to please Leon, I continued to get behind on washing his clothes, and keeping his meals fresh and even worse I even stopped praying for him.
That's a mistake that took a little hold on our marriage causing us to argue and it's a mistake that I refuse to make again..
Children are supposed to make a husband and wife grow closer and not farther apart. And I believe the reason why that happens sometimes to couples is because they forget that they were a husband or wife before becoming a parent. And obviously it's not the kids fault but the parents.
Sometimes "we" wives don't run and jump into the arms of our Mr when he comes home anymore because we're too busy keeping our kids happy.
Or we get behind on laundry because we'd rather be blogging on our little break then folding clothes.
Or sometimes we do "take out" way too often because we don't want to cook dinner..
Which is an understandable thing but not a good thing.
As a wife and a keeper of the house I'm called to be a good steward of what I have. I was so blessed to have the opportunity to spend my life with my husband early in life and I want to be a good steward of him and take good care of him.
I'm not saying I'm a horrible wife for getting behind on laundry, or not hugging on him when he gets home from work, or ordering take out when I don't feel like cooking dinner..
What I'm saying is that I shouldn't be making excuses for myself. I get behind on things around that house and I've used my busyness as an excuse. I get so overwhelmed with piles of laundry but it can be prevented. Doing a load of laundry every day and folding it and putting it away is a 30 minute job at the most. And planning a dinner menu the week before would make it so much easier to cook each night of the week and allowing myself to have a break from cooking every once in a while.
So ladies, This wife and Mama has come up with a plan to help me be a better Stuart in my role as a wife and house keeper. I'm coming up with a chart and I'm going to write a schedule of things I need to do each day to make my home a cleaner and happier one for my husband. I know at the moment Evie doesn't mind her clothes piling over but Leon does and I'm going to prevent that and make the piling go away.
And I've started praying for my husband these last few weeks every day again and I'm letting him know. Praying for my husband is the most important thing I can do. We can't grow stronger in our relationship together if our prayer life is on the back burner. I'll be posting more on that next week.

Understanding my role as a Biblical WIfe.
First this! I'm guesting posting for Andrea on her series Birth diaries.. Come check it out. :)I love her & her blog.
Moving on...The study on learning who I am as a daughter of Christ is so incredible. It's really a study that doesn't end and would clearly take forever to get it all down. We have so much Victory, Authority & so much love from Jesus. It's a study I don't plan to end and I encourage you to do a study on it yourselves. I'd love to hear all about it!
In these last few weeks of understanding to a deeper level of who we are as daughters of God I've taken with me that The Father has lavished us in His Love and acceptance. And we are all children of God through faith. That He is The Perfect Father to us willingly and has adopted us to be His Own. We are not unworthy to be His children in fact, we have a right to be! Not because of our own works but all because of Jesus and all that He did to make us perfection and white as snow. He is our reflection.
Being a woman who has never had that kind of Father and daughter relationship before this speaks volumes to me. We are not meant to seek and expect our fathers to fill every need. That's what our Father in Heaven desires to do and He's the only one that can do it. It doesn't matter if your dad here in earth is the best one there is. He can't fill your every need because he has needs of his own. He can't fll your every need because he doesn't know how too. So give your needs to God and He'll fill them willingly with love and open arms.
Ladies, we are so much more in Jesus. It's captivating. This study isn't yet over for me and I will continue to study and share what I have learned in my upcoming E book EEK! I can't wait to share more on that.
Now I think it's time to move on to Understanding my role as a Biblical wife. I have been so excited to do this one because being a wife and knowing the importance of being a Biblical one not only for my sake but my family's as well,. I take my role as a wife so seriously and I want to do it joyfully & with the best of my ability. So will you join me for the next couple of weeks as I make the commitment with learning and understanding to a deeper level of what my role is as a Biblical wife? I'm so excited. :)

Understanding my role as a Biblical Daughter.
This study has been so renewing and refreshing for me. I have received so much from it so far and it's only been two weeks.. I wasn't able to study too much this week considering my mouth has been swollen from wisdom teeth (blah) However, I did get some great nuggets to share.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
- 1 John 3:1
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> In other translations it replaces "Bestowed" with "Lavished" and "Great Love" So so beautiful! It amazes me every day that The Lord of lords and King of kings loves me. It's such an Amazing Love that just sweeps me away. I don't always feel His love.. In fact when things go wrong in our lives it can make it really difficult to feel anything from Jesus.. But take heart friend that His love isn't a feeling, it's truth. It's what we walk by faith to believe. Believing that Jesus doesn't love us because things our going wrong with whatever is the biggest lie from the devil.. Instead of being mad at Jesus for the worlds problems cling to Him and His love and have faith! He can't help you unless you give it to Him.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. -Galatians 3:26-28
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Though experiencing His love encounters are awesome we need to remember that His love for us is all the time and not just when we feel it! When you're at your worst He loves you just as much when you were at your best. He is for you friend and He loves you! If you are truly needing a love encounter this morning. I encourage you to listen to this song and just let Jesus take over. :) Love you guys.

Happy Spring btw!! It's hard for me to grasp the fact that it's Spring with the weather still being chilly! However, I'm going Spring shopping and hopping that will give our bi-polar weather a hint to warm up ;)
It's hard to believe this time last year my toddler was a baby still :)

We are daughters.
This was my first week of the study and it was so refreshing. I haven't started reading any books yet but I've been reading scripture.
I've decided that before doing any further studies on marriage/motherhood I was going to firstly study to a deeper level of who I am as a Daughter in Christ. Because I don't know about you but I'll be the first to admit that I can't do this wife or mama thing without His identity in me because without Jesus I'm too selfish and too foolish.
So, I'm gonna seek further wisdom of who I am in Christ because without Him and without knowing who I am in Him I'm not capable. But with Him and knowing who I am in Him I'm a firm believer that I can do anything including the impossible likeloving Leon when he eats all my pumpkin bread moving mountains.
These are the three scriptures that I've been studying this week about being a child of The Most High God.
"And I will be a Father to you, and you will be My Sons and Daughters, Says The Lord Almighty."
-2 Cor 6:18
But to all who receive Him, who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become Children of God;
-John 1:12
"For in Christ we are all sons of God through faith." -Gal 3:26
These are the only three scriptures that I got to this week because I couldn't stop reading them and letting them sink in. the other day I was standing in line for ice cream and I was just desiring a Fatherly relationship for a split second.. Maybe it was the gentle and loving relationship between a father and his daughter who was in front of me who knows? However, The Lord spoke to me right then and there saying
"Heather, you don't need to search any more. I'm the Best Father there is!"
I seriously almost started crying at a dairy shop. I was so touched and this whole thing of me being a daughter of Christ just became a new level of reality for me.
Ladies, whether you have an amazing dad on earth or a dad who gave you the worst years of your life take heart that you are a child of the King who saw you when you were hurting and He loved you!
He loves you so much that He sent His only perfect and flawless Son to come and die for our sins so that He could adopt us to be His Own and so that we could have that right. We were given that right!
We are no longer Fatherless, we can no longer say we're not daddy's girls and we are free to say we have the best Papa of all time.. Because it's true!
