She will overcome.

A teething baby and feisty toddler who is figuring things out (sometimes the hard way) is what has been going on around here lately. It has been exhausting and probably the most challenging thing I have faced in motherhood thus far. My Liya is such a wonderful baby. Those instagram pictures are honestly no lie. But when she's teething she's miserable and just wants to be held 24/7 and even then she's fussy, biting, pulling, choking me, and clawing mama.. (I need to get this girl a "Caution" shirt. And Like Liya my Evelynne is wonderful. On the independent and feistier end however, I love them and I'm so proud of them. But like most toddlers she's come to a place in her life where she's trying to figure things out. Like "I wonder how loud I can scream until Mama gives me my way" and "I wonder what would happen if I don't listen?"
And because Liya is slowly getting mobile and awfully curious about Evelynne's toys Evelynne has become quite territorial. Oh, and did I mention that both Liya and Evelynne have been giving me nightly calls every few hours.. I think they take turns. ;)

Where I'm going at is there has been much caffeine, timeouts, pajama days, hugs, kisses and the feeling of a failure.

Last week it really hit me as Evelynne was seriously throwing the tantrum of all tantrums.. I thought "If I was a good mom, would my daughter really be acting like this?" I just couldn't get it out of my head the thought that I was doing something wrong and I was failing my daughter and causing her to act in such a manner..

And now, I do understand that those are all lies from the devil and if you've been struggling with that too. I want to remind you that you are a wonderful mom and God gave you this child for a reason and no way would He set you up for failure. He's got bigger and brighter plans for you.

Truth is. We're not perfect parents and we won't have perfect kids who are tantrum free. But we can praise our perfect Father who has already supplied the strength and tools we need to overcome.

I totally recommend that Holy Spirit should be every moms bestie. He is not just awesome but seriously, He has everything we need to survive and beyond. So, to brighten your week I thought I'd share a few scriptures that have kept me going that that the Holy Spirit has used to get me out of survival mode and transform into Over comer  mode.

Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I AM your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you and I will uphold you with My Righteous Right Hand. -Isaiah 41:10

This one is one of my life verses and it still applies to me today. Knowing that God is with me and He's daily strengthening me, willing to help me and uphold me with His Hand is just incredible. Just a reminder that I can do all things through Him because He's with me. Which brings me to our next verse.

"I can do ALL things through CHRIST who strengthens me. - Phil 4:13
Those tantrums, the teething, the disobedience and the correcting.. We can do it as hard as it is.. I added the "correcting" because I have such a hard time disciplining. I think it really does hurt me more than it does her. But because I love her I do it. I love her enough to make sure she knows that it is not okay to behave like that..But with God I can do all things.

"There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." -Romans 8-1
Because I'm the first to admit that I don't have it all together. I make plenty of mistakes, and I even lose it sometimes. Which is why this is a perfect reminder for me to seek forgiveness and move on guilt free.

"In Christ are hidden treasures of knowledge and wisdom."-  COLOSSIANS 2:3

That wisdom and knowledge is in Christ and if I keep seeking Him He will show me everything I need to know about raising my children after His heart. Perhaps He'll even show me how to get Evie to eat her greens with a smile on her face. :)

"Come to Me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest"- Matthew 11:28-30

This is certainly a verse I try to quote every time I'm tired or weary or just done.. He's got us!
"But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." -1 Corinthians 15:57

Praise God that we have the victory!

She will not become weary.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the time we will reap a harvest  if we do no give up. -Galatians 6:9

My oldest is two and we've been going through some challenges. Challenges that would either break me or make and honestly, a majority of the time I feel like it's breaking me. You'll find me most nights after bed time clinging to coffee comfort and watching a funny movie because I just needed a laugh and sometimes I don't even watch it but instead I just daze.. Sound familiar? I don't usually like telling people what we're going through due to the fact they often say "Oh, she must be going through the terrible twos!" And I feel like I'm left defending my daughter because I really do hate that term.. It's a challenging stage no doubt however, if you look at what she's going through as a toddler still trying to discover and figure things out it could still be an exciting stage. Despite the tantrums, the will and the attitude I do love this stage as Evelynne is starting to explore and learn so much more.

Are you struggling with a challenging task with you and your child? No matter the what or reason I just want to encourage you today to keep going and to never give up with consistency, time and choosing joy in all the craziness that's going on in this season. For in the proper time you will see breakthrough in your child and all those good seeds you are constantly sowing into right now will soon reap a harvest.

Don't give up Mama, don't grow weary, keep seeking Jesus and His love, mercy and strength and do not give up!

The very short time you are struggling with your kid now does not even compare to the amazing breakthrough you will see in them later. So keep your head up, be consistent, stand your ground and get ready to see the harvest.

A refreshing, quick online devotional for Moms that you can look forward to every Monday morning to start your week of to a great start! If you have any questions, comments, or would like to guest post you can email me at Heather.Abeautifulministry@gmail.com

She is comforted.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful memorial day weekend! My husband is working today so me and my girls will be celebrating at the park while I keep all of you military families in my thoughts and prayers.

Being a wife and mother my thoughts specifically go out to you Military wives and moms. The ones who have to wait months and months before you get to see your husband or introduce your new little baby to him for the first time in person.

And for some of you, today is a day of mourning for you as it is a remembrance of the man that you loved who sacrificed his life for his country and you now work daily to make it work..

And to the moms who do still have husbands living but rarely see them (like us) due to the fact that their job is completely not family oriented.

And to the wives and moms who are just lonely and she feels unheard and unseen.

This post is for you.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."- Matthew 5:4

Wives and Moms. You are seen, you are heard and you are loved! Despite what you are going through right now, Jesus is for you and not against you. He wants to comfort you in this season and He wants to be there for you and raise you to overcome.

He wants to meet with you and fill you with the Joy that no circumstance can break down and He wants to be your strength!

Meet with Him today girl, put on some worship and let Him lavish on you and fill you with comfort and blessing and mourn no more.

She is called.

-God doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the called.-

One thing you should know about me is that I'm a dreamer. I have many plans in this heart of mine. Many passions and goals and I believe every one of them will come true. However, there was a time in my life when I wasn't so sure they would do to the fact I didn't think I  was qualified to do this or strong enough or even good or talented enough..

I remember one night just talking to God saying "God, why do I have all of these desires and passions if I wasn't talented enough to fulfill them?" And I remember Him telling me "The called do not come qualified but it is I who qualify the called and make them qualified."

It was then I realized hey! I do have what it takes because God has what it takes and He lives in me. :)

I think maybe one of the reasons why we struggle so much with Motherhood and being "good" enough is because of our identity lack. We get so stressed, depressed, and tired and we focus so much on ourselves and not Our Father who is our strength renewal. The One who who promised to care for us, carry us, strengthen us and never leave us.

We have learned to depend on ourselves (or maybe that third cup of coffee) and not the God who has told us many times "Come to me sweet Daughter, when you are tired and burdened and I will give you rest.
See Matthew11:28.

Qualified is not perfection

Something "us" moms deal with and shouldn't have to is  struggling with perfection and striving to be that "perfect" mom who does everything perfect and right.. It can be hard sometimes especially when you're involved in media.. But God didn't call us to be perfect moms. He doesn't want us to be perfect moms. He wants us to be moms after His heart and seeking Him with everything we are and when we do that God will take care of everything else leaving only the purest joy in our hearts.

Sisters. You are called to be a mom and you are doing an amazing job! Even on the sweatpants, house a mess, eating out days. Don't ever think God is looking down on you on those days because He's totally not!! He loves you, cherishes  you and is so proud of you because He knows this mom thing is crazy hard and He's so proud of you and He knows you need days like this to not cook dinner and just rest.

She is enough. Week one.

I planned for day one to be about how we are called to Motherhood and how we are anointed for such a time as this to raise our little ones. But this morning as I was pouring my first cup of coffee to sip on before my girls woke up I kept hearing the word "You are enough"

Am I really enough? Knowing this and accepting this is something I have struggled so much with even to this day. I mean I know what the scriptures say, I know it in my mind but maybe I struggle with this because I have not yet believed it in my heart. So our first week of this devotional we are talking about being enough because it's something that I believe all of us moms young and old have struggled with.

Growing up I've always lived in a certain pattern. The pattern of striving to be good enough. Good enough for my parents, my older siblings, my friends and most of all God. Every good deed I did, every vowel I made was done in hopes that God just might love me a little more.

When I got into a relationship with Leon it became a unhealthy one for me at first because my only thought was " I'd do  anything for him to love me more!" I didn't think I was enough for him and I'd often wonder what I could do to change that.

Now that I'm a mom the thought often comes back at least once a week and more so when it's a super long week ":Am I enough for my kids" I do struggle with certain things.  Organization in some things (which I find crazy considering I'm a religious daily planner), making sure Evelynne has a veggie at every meal, and I admit sometimes she does watch too much TV..  Sometimes I choose the faults in my life as a Daughter of God, wife and mom to be my identity and not my identity in Christ. Which is why I often wonder "Am I really good enough?" But you know what? I'm not a daughter of God because of the things I've done or who I am but Because of what Jesus did and who He is. I'm not a wife and mom because I deserve to be one. I'm a wife and mom because our God is a loving Father who loves to bless His children with Good gifts.

Daughters, Wives, Moms. It's time. It's time we stop listening to the enemy as he gives us reasons to believe the lies that we're not good enough or qualified enough to be a victor in Motherhood but instead it's time we listen to Our Father. The one we call God. After all it was His Son He sent to die for You! He let heaven go bankrupt so  that He could have a personal relationship with you. That right there should tell us something..
I'm starting to believe that maybe Satan knows our identity in Christ as well and he's terrified by that and that's why he tries his hardest to make us insecure by throwing faults at us and I believe he targets moms most of all because we're the ones raising the generation to come. There's the saying "The hand who rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world".

My desire is to raise our generation a generation after the heart of God.. A strong generation that doesn't believe in not being good enough but instead they choose to believe Jesus is enough for them and that's all that matters.

Sisters. It's time we stop believing the lie and making it our identity. Everything that lie was is dead and we are new a creation in Christ.

We are never too much and we are always enough. We are God's masterpiece, the apple of His eye and He is so proud of us. And you know what? He's with us in Motherhood and He won't leave us. He's there for us  constantly supplying everything we need to be the best mom He has created us to be.

She is.

Women. Sisters. Moms. I am so deeply exited to bring to you my newest devotional for moms. I have felt so led in my spirit to start a Mom devotional ever since the beginning of my pregnancy with Liya and here it is!

I started out by writing "She is."  as a E-book but I really felt The Spirit leading me to make it a series for now and possibly a book later. I'm really excited!

Let me tell you all about it!
"She is" will begin May 11 on a Monday and will continue to be published on Mondays so that you will get a fresh start to your week. I will be discussing and sharing encouragement for moms in all seasons whether you're a brand new mama, prego mama or moms who just need a breath of fresh air. My prayer is that you will find encouragement here and that it will be a great reminder of God's love for you and that you are called for Motherhood, Favored by your Father, Loved by the most high God and you are perfect in Him.

Would you like to guest post?
Yes! I am taking guest posts.. So if you have some encouragement to share to other moms or even a testimony that you feel would bless other moms. Please email me at heather.abeautifulministry@gmail.com and I'll set you up!
My vision.
is to build a sisterhood community of moms who just want to encourage one another in love. I see this devotional as being an online coffee shop where all of "us" moms who are thirsty and craving fellowship and a deeper relationship with God can just come on in and drink deep of heavenly Jesus espresso, fellowship and meet new mamas and become life besties. And to be honest, I see conferences in the future.. I know, I know I tend to dream big.. But hey, like I always say "You gotta dream big or go home!" AMEN?

So mark your calenders mark your phone for May 11th on Monday for "She is". I'm so excited to fellowship with you! And don't forget to send this to your other mommy friends so they can drink deep too!
